While you may see a fair number of tattoos depicting wolves as fearsome creatures or meeting violent ends come out of our shop, we at the Sea Wolf are happy to see Minnesota’s grey wolves back on the Endangered Species Act’s protection. Wolves were briefly taken off the endangered species list and legal to hunt between 2012 and 2014. While Minnesota’s wolf population was estimated at fewer than 750 animals in the 1950’s, the DNR now estimates our wolf population at a booming 2,423 wolves. Minnesota’s wolf legacy is unique; at one time we sheltered the last remaining wild wolves in the lower 48 states. We are happy to see our wolf population thriving and they continue to inspire our work! Thanks Cameron!
